Kung fu.

Kung fu has been an integral part of Chinese culture ever since it was created by the Shaolin monks, who created the deadly yet beautiful art by observing the movements of animals and adapting them into an effective fighting form to defend themselves against invading armies and thieving bandits.

Kung fu is now extremely popular in the West, thanks to kung fu super-stars such as Bruce Lee, Jackie Chan, and Jet Li.  With the ever-growing use of the martial arts in Hollywood, the fascination with the mysterious art is bound to continue.

Kung fu is still extremely popular in China, and there are numerous kung fu performances here in Beijing to entertain martial arts aficionados.  Performances are shown daily in the city, containing some of the best kung fu performers in the world.

A trip to take in one of Beijing’s many kung fu shows is not only a must for all those budding Jackie Chans and Jet Lis out there, but also a great chance to take in some real Chinese culture and be fully entertained for an evening as well.
