One wouldn't think that a booming metropolis of 17 million would be a place where horseback riding was considered popular, but there are actually quite a few equestrian clubs and riding facilities to be found around Beijing municipality.
A number of the horseback riding clubs in Beijing are for members only. Many of the instructors come from Inner Mongolia, which is famous in China for its horses. Another option, offering fresh air and clear blue skies, is to take a day trip out to the grasslands of Hebei Province (west of Beijing).
